It's amazing people have these terrible experiences and just say "Eh, I'll give it another chance." It's no wonder all these crappy places are able to stay in business so long, because everybody is so lame to give each place 2 chances to give them crappy service and over-priced food.

I've only been there a few times but never had a problem with the service or food. Not all of us that go back have had a bad experience.

Some of us "lame" people that have actually worked in a service industry understand that sometimes you just have one of those days where nothing goes right. We also realize that many times, people complain about things that really aren't problems and they love to exaggerate their bad experience.

Considering that others claim to have had good experiences, I'm not willing to abandon something that looks good on paper and has potential just because I may have caught them on a bad day. Get it wrong twice and I'm done.

It would be sad to think of everything I'd miss in life if I bailed after the first bad experience.

I took my daughter there for breakfast last week, and loved it so much that I took my son on his birthday! The prices are mid-upper end so expect to pay at least $20 for 2 people - I think I paid about $25 each time including tip.

The Maui Pancakes are HUGE and really good! And the Folsom Omlette is a new favorite, it's really big as well. I ended up splitting one with my son the 2nd time we went.

I'd suggest it to anyone, the service is good and the food is GREAT!

Of all the things to nut up about you're going to pick pirates? Who else will save us from the ninja menace?

That's not very nice.

Back in the '80's, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fantabulistic glory was a hey day for a very close to failing company that made "Turtle Wax".

Primarily sold to middle class families that had male children aged 3-7 years old.

The cartoons, whether the parent watched them or not, got soaked into their concience, thus they "bought" into the Turtle mania---whether they admit it or not.

Some of those same parents are still stalwart fans of the wax on --wax off technique---even though there are companies out there now that sell much cheaper, and more efficient types of wax.

uhmmm--ok---my fun is done, here! tongue.gif

My wife and I went there once, about two months ago, and I had the Monte Cristo Sandwich. To say the least, it was the worst Monte Cristo Sandwich I have ever eaten. I could not finish it, it was that bad. Nothing like any other I have ever eaten and I have eaten some very good ones.

We will more than likely not go back because of this.

We like Monte Cristo sandwiches so long as they are done right and the best was Aunt Em's in Carmel where it was deep fried but didn't have nearly the oil or butter that traditional grilled MC have elsewhere. Someone said this was a sign they know how to use a deep fryer and keep the oil hot.

That said, I have only tried the omelets and other breakfast items so far. What was off about the monte cristo?

They had real thin pieces of bread on both sides and it was kind of soggy and really didn't taste very good. The best monte cristo sandwich my son and I ever had was in Phoenix when he was going to Arizona State. It was at one of the finer hotels there.

I don't know but I am not going back to try it again. If someone else has a great one there please let me know.

when i went there i ordered the crab benedict and aside from it being cold, the crab was totally rancid and room temp (warmer than the hollandaise and egg) which led me to believe it had been sitting out to long. as someone who worked in the restaurant biz for over ten years, i know things happen. So, I told the server it was bad, and asked to please just have a couple of eggs and toast. I didn't make a huge deal about it, but if it were my kitchen i'd want to know if someone was sending out crap they wouldn't feed their dog.

what made me decide to never go there again was that the manager/owner (didn't ask) came back with my dish i sent back and proceeded (sp?) to take a bite out of it and tell me he thought it was fine. i got really pissed and told the guy, great for you, but that tastes like a**! maybe someone left it out, i dunno, but i would never serve it, nor would i argue with a customer over the quality of my ingredients. then he blew me off and walked away.

arrrggg! that still makes me mad! i totally didn't even think twice about the food and probably would have gone back assuming it was a mistake, but he pushed me over the edge!

grrr...there's nothing worse then bad customer service.
