Ugh, not sure any restaurant can last in that center. Too many good restaurants and most have gone out in 12-24 months. How long before others bail?

They might take issue with the bar. Otherwise I'd consider converting!

its new construction though, finished at the top of the market. if Malabar, with its big bar, couldn't make it, the rent must be too high.

Hometown Buffet comes to mind, but not sure they'd want the location or building. Hometown doesn't serve beer/wine (I think), so what to do w/ Malabar great bar? Plus cost of remodel/renovtion would be prohibitive. How about a Johnny Garlics? Guy Fieri's joint
or Texas Roadhouse BBQ joint?

Landlords just don't get it...What can possibly go in where Malabar stood. Lets hope not another restaurant chain.
Malabar actually owns the "pad". They did not have to deal with the landlord in regards to rent but I know they had a hefty mortgage. In the landlords defense, they offered us a rent break in the end once other business started folding. I wish the owners of Malibar well, I know they worked very hard in trying to make it work....

I have not seen any 711's in Folsom. Don't laugh, but I think that with all these businesses closing dows, the City iof Folsom is losing massive amounts of tax revenues. Why wouldn't they consider 711 and other stuff like that???
I know I will probably get all kinds of smart alleck responses from folks in Folsom offended at the utter mention of 711, BUT the fact remains that the City in 2009 has lost SIGNIFICANT tax revenues with all these closures.
What about legalized marijuana shops all over town and tax them crazy. hey the City is gotta do to make by.

What's different between 7-eleven's and the convenience stores in the Chevron gas stations that are on every corner in town?
