I am also happy about Panera Bread, but I don't see myself driving out of my way for it.Panera is good news. I can take or leave Chops, since we already have a couple good steakhouses.
I'm also starting to get concerned about parking. There's no way I'm tramping through a typical mall parking lot for a bite to eat.
Oh, and I think we could use a good toy store.

I wish any of the Hillstone Group restaurants would come in. Love them all (i.e. Banderra, Houstons, etc).
Me too!!
Eric are any of these being considered?

According to Stephen Hemington, CFO for Elliott Homes, owner of Palladio, the Pallidio is also adding Chicago Fire, Chops, Panera Bread, Freebirds World Burritos and Toby Keith.
Freebirds World Burritos
http://freebirds.com/freebirds-story looks like a Dos Coyotes, but it all started in 87 near the beach in Santa Barbara, California when two ex-hippies figured out how to roll some awesome burritos using fresh-chopped veggies, house-made rice and beans, and of course grass fed beef and all natural chicken....
so, it's a "roll your own burrito place" ?? The dude will love this!!!

Freebirds is nearly the exact same as Chipotle. There's one opening in Roseville as well at Fairway and Pleasant Grove.

And I'd love to see more upscale restaurants here in which one can actually carry on a conversation.

I have long since been very dissapointed in not having a major dept. store as an anchor. To me, Palladio is BLOWING IT by not bringing in a "unique to the area" department store like Nieman Marcus, Dillards, Bloomingdales, etc. But if Elliott is not "going there", at least throw a bone like Pottery Barn or Crate & Barrell.
But again, I hope things really ramp up as more and more pads fill up.

Also, we need a Toys R Us or something like that.

The very slow development of Palladio has hurt it as the Gallaria and the Fountains have taken much of the retail that could have come to Folsom. Retailers are not totally stupid and will not open excess locations that cannibalize from each other, particularly in a tight economy. Nordstrom does not need another location in the Sacramento area and Macy's probably doesn't either. Target is already in Folsom and most of the other department stores no longer exist(remember Weinstocks and The Emporium and Bullocks and Liberty House and others).
Lifestyle centers do work, even in hot climates. They have been done very successfully in Phoenix and Scottsdale. They also work in cold climates. At least they do for now. Time will tell if they will continue to be successful.
I think Palladio has suffered from the developers lack of experience with large retail projects, delays and the down economy. I hope they can make it work.
