18 U.S. Code § 2381 - Treason

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 807; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(2)(J), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2148.)

Misprision of treason

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States and having knowledge of the commission of any treason against them, conceals and does not, as soon as may be, disclose and make known the same to the President or to some judge of the United States, or to the governor or to some judge or justice of a particular State, is guilty of misprision of treason

So when does Hillary, John Kerry, Pelosi, and Obummer report to Leavenworth Kansas to do their time....?

Trump is doing a masterful job of keeping the media and other Leftist loons out there chasing their own tails looking for a *fake scandal* or some kind of fake story to bring down Trump. Ain't gonna happen. He's 3 steps ahead of you amateurs. Trump is a shrewd, intelligent man. But keep trying! We'll watch you buffoons with amusement.

This thread is about amateurs... you want to know who the REAL amateur is, and he proved it in spades??

Perhaps I've posted this before, but worth a repeat and a couple other comments:

-  Kurt Vonnegut once wrote, "True terror is waking up in the morning to discover that your high school class is running the country."   And it appears the administration has no interest in getting better at what they do.

-  "Ugly American" is a pejorative term used to refer to perceptions of loud, arrogant, demeaning, thoughtless, ignorant, and ethnocentric behavior of American citizens mainly abroad, but also at home.  Based on events of the past week, it appears we've elected an ugly American to be president.

-  It seems that Trump's republican base continues to support him and his actions.  In doing so, they reveal their true character.  They not only admire him and what he does, they secretly aspire to be just like him.  If you question Trump's actions in the slightest way in front of a staunch Trump supporter (your neighbor perhaps), just imagine what he really thinks of you.

-  Finally, I believe most Americans agree that some changes are needed in our government.  Many things we've relied on over the past decades haven't been working so well lately.  But I don't think most Americans want the "bull in the China shop" approach to governing we seem to have now.  Just think - we're going to have four years (at least) of a lot of bull in the China shop.  Fun, huh?

I agree with some of your post. I don't think Republicans support Trump with enthusiasm. He was the better choice of two horrible candidates. Not that that endears him to anyone. I support many of his attempts at policy, but I still think he is a buffoon in an ill fitting suit. I am not "proud" of him and I am frequently hard pressed to defend his actions. That said, Hildebeast would have been a disaster and an extension of Obama's poor policies.  SOmeday, maybe we'll actually have a decent choice for President.

Joe - I too am hopeful that someone will come along with all the "right stuff".  Hopeful, but not optimistic.

I have a theory I call the presidential paradox - Anyone smart enough to be president and leader of the free world is also smart enough to know he/she doesn't want the job.  I'm certain there are many capable people out there.  But who would want to do it?

Please don't mislead this audience. You admitted that you voted for Hillary, despite her record of vast corruption and criminality. So don't give us your jive. You could have voted Third Party or wrote-in a name as a protest vote if you were serious about wanting the *right stuff*. Quit being disingenuous. It's getting old.

Trump lies, deceptions and idiocy: Lesson 1:

"I won't cut Medicare or Social Security."

Truth: Budget calls for major cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and health care.

The sad truth is that medicare and SS will HAVE to be cut. They are promises built on foundations of sand. There is NO WAY for them to continue in their current form. For SS, get ready for means testing, raising of age for benefits and reduction of payouts. It WILL happen. That is the difference between a liberal world view and a conservative one.  A liberal goes with their feelings, a conservative looks at the facts. The facts are that SS and Medicare eat up the largest percentage of our budget and that number is growing. Neither one of them are sustainable.  There is no "trust fund" for what you pay in.

If you read about the founding of Social Security in 1935, you will see that the program was intended to be a supplemental source of income for retirees.  My father told me once this his father received $6 per month in 1940 from Social Security.

AARP Magazine did a survey last year and found that of people over the age 50,  only 40% had saved anything for retirement.  their only source of income would be the Social Security check.  The Social Security Administration reports that the average SS payment is about $1640/month.  In the same survey, 28% of respondents indicated that lottery winnings were a serious part of their retirement plans.

In the case of Social Security,  Americans are their own worst enemy.

Yeah, and which political party is the party of handouts, entitlements, and freebies? They actually brag about it when they campaign. You won't answer because you're a disingenuous Kool-Aid drinker. They condition people to be dependent. It's a disgusting thing, and you openly support it. Maybe that's why you're not respected here.

An even sadder truth is that Medicare/Medicaid don't need to be cut.  Except for the fact that none of the conversation relates to cost controls.  And it started with Obamacare.  Nowhere in the ACA do the words "cost control", "cost management", "cost reduction", or "cost mitigation" appear.  And the same is true for the current healthcare bill just authored by the GOP House.  And there's a good reason.  the healthcare industry spent $324M last year on lobbyists in Washington to make certain "cost control" doesn't appear in the legislation.

And here's the part that hurts - the $324M to fund lobbyists was covered by price increases from healthcare providers and insurance companies.  In other words, the healthcare industry is screwing patients with higher prices to make sure they can continue to screw patients with higher prices.  They've completely distorted free enterprise and capitalism, and the customer isn't sophisticated enough to figure it out.  you can thank the screw job people get from our nearly non-functional educational systems for that.  And so it goes -
