And Pizzeria Classico mops the floor with Chicago Fire and any other pizza joint in town.

I agree about Pizzeria Classico. I just do not get why Chicago Fire gets such huge crowds. Expensive, not great service, long wait. I've tried on two evenings and been disappointed. One of my favorite things to do on Sutter Street: get a Roadhouse pizza at Pizzeria Classico and take it over to the Wine Gallery to eat with a bottle of their wine. That way you can eat great pizza with great wine while watching the crowds of hungry people milling around out in front of Chicago Fire..... lol

In keeping with the negativity of this thread....Mel's couldn't be worse. No one else in Folsom is so bad they deserve a negative comment though. Just not in my nature.

I agree that Pizzaria Classico is good, but It doesnt quite have that X Factor that Chicago Fire possesses. Ive had a hundred pizzas just like Classico, but Chicago Fire presents a little different type (for folsom) and a great atmosphere.

As for Beach Hut, I will swear by this place. I agree that when it gets busy, it does take upwards of 15 minutes to get a sandwich, but I know you'll agree that theyre sandwiches are unmatched by anyone in nearby. Ive been going there since before it even came to Folsom and I will continue going because it makes me happy. lol.

If you ever get up to Shingle Springs, the world's best chicken club sandwich is available at Squealer's.

Ive actually never been. Where abouts is squealers? Ill try it out, but I still stand by beach hut.

Again, I agree that Pizzaria Classico is awesome. I guess its a personal preference that I prefer chicago fire. Their spinach salad and thin crust pizzas are to die for.

Squealer's is across from Family Chevrolet at the corner of Shingle Springs dr. and Ponderosa.

It once took over an hour to get a sandwich at Beach Hut. The great food is no match for how horribly long it takes to get it.

And Pizzeria Classico mops the floor with Chicago Fire and any other pizza joint in town.

I had the same experience at Beach Hut, I wish it was better but I won't go back to a place that is horribly slow.

You are 100% correct about Pizzeria Classico!! I love the pizza there much better by comparison to ANY other pizza place in town - including Chicago Fire - and it doesn't cost $60-80 bucks to have dinner there like it does at Chicago Fire

I laff at the long lines of people outside Chicago Fire when its so easy to walk right across the street, get served right away and the pizza is much better.

now don't get me wrong, I do like Chicago Fire but I don't think its worth the hype and the super long lines

I might have to check out squealers today...

I agree with it for the most part, except for Sol Azteca - I think that is by far some of the worse mexican food I've ever had, but thats mainly because I can't stand bland food - for some that is preferred vs spicy mexican food versions

that was a pretty good list you did - well done

I'm sorry, I have to disagree with some of your votes. Bailies is pretty good, but since their multitude of owner changes, cancelled coupons, and declining service.. I just can't put them in my top 5 anymore.

Beach Hut is great though! But I rarely ever go at noon and don't have the wait problems others have experienced.

I agree that the changing of ownership is a bit disheartening, but as long as their skirt steak stays the same, it'll be my favorite in folsom. I have to admit that I like the lack of publicity it gets. I can always get the food I want in the time I want it.

As for Sol Azteca, Ill be honest, I put it based on what other people have said. I dont eat there very often. My favorite sit down place is actually in EDH. Colina del Oro. But Ill stand by La Fiesta. Awesome food.

Only had Bailies once, but it was great. Hacienda seems hit and miss, one time I went there the food was outstanding, but the other times it was just so-so. Mel's is horrible, but it's not just the one in Folsom, the one on Lombard in SF is pretty bad too.

Some have tried, and said it was pretty good. I'm still a devout Aloha man myself...

you should try Sky Sushi in EDH. The chef that created it formerly was an executive sushi chef in Vegas. The rolls are very original and taste great. Great atmosphere and food presentation

The last time I went to Bailies, it was very good. It's been about a year, though.

I have to admit that I was really disappointed by my last Beach Hut Deli sandwich. I've always sworn by this place, but the last time I went (about a week ago) the bread seemed close to stale and the quantity of meat on the sandwich was WAY down from what it used to be. Frankly, if I'm going to pay $7 for a sandwich and wait 20 minutes to get it, it had better be piled high. Beach Hut used to do that, but if this last trip is any indication they have really cut back on their meatage. Heck, I could actually close the sandwich entirely without anything falling out or the roll breaking.

I would personally put Pizzeria Classico and Chicago Fire as about equal, although they are two very different styles of pizza. It has happened more than once that I've gotten to Chicago Fire and heard that the wait will be an hour. In those cases, I just walk over to Classico!

In my opinion, Sol Azteca is just plain bad. I've been there twice and won't go back again. Mediocre, bland food and extremely slow service.
