Kelly is so terrible, from her fake country charm and naivete to her butchering of songs. I bet people will continue to vote for her just to screw the pooch.

Paris plays it up as a perky, sweet, inspirational dynamo, which translates into gratingly annoying.

Taylor is a doof.

Chris puts too much vibrato into every long note.

McPheever - so so singer, but pretty

That leaves Elliott.

You heard here first, kids. Elliott is you American Idol.

Of course, I was wrong, once, many years ago...

So no more Pickler...what do you all think?

I think this is an amazing Top 5. Next week's show should be good! What's the theme?

It is good that Pick Pickler is going home. I am glad they had second thoughts about what they said about McPheever.

I noticed on the web site that the AI tour will be at Arco on 29-Aug. I'm not sure I would want to be in the middle of thousand of screaming kids but I would really like to see this top 5 in concert. I think they are pretty good. I think they are the best ones from any other show.

Finally! Kellie is gone........

I suspect next week will be Paris's turn.....based on last night's bottom 2.....

I agree that this top 5 is the best so far on this show.....

OK. Who do you think will be going home tonight? It's really a tough one this week.....

If we based it only on performances last night, everyone did very well, I thought, with the exception of the first song McPhee sang. That one stunk up the place. I can't really say any of the others were that bad. So if the voting REALLY represented the performances, she should go home. However, I don't think that will happen.

I guess if I had to choose who I think the lowest vote getter will be, I'd say Paris. (even tho I thought she was pretty good last night.....)

What do y'all think?

McPheever is cute, but boring.

Last night each one did one good song and one crummy song... Chris rocked but his second song was too much of a scream fest. Paris did ok on one of two songs. Kat did lousy on her first song and outstanding on her second one. Elliot was just ok. Taylor was a hoot to watch - he may be a geek but he's a great entertainer and his second song was very good.

Out of all of them I think Elliot should be going home - heck he sang a song that practically begged for him to be sent home (lyrics) lmaosmiley.gif

If you think about who's album you would go out and actually buy - for me it would be Chris and Kat

I never thought I'd do it but I bought Kelly Clarksons CD and was amazed at how awesome it is - American Idol really does find and create idols - its a good show and did you all hear that Randy, Paula, Simon and Ryan just signed up for another three years with the show?

I agree, either Elliott or Paris. Probably Paris. McPheever made up for her first disaster with her second song. It was great.

Paris is my prediction. I still love Elliot's scratchy voice but it should be used for bluesy songs -- what was he thinking with that George Benson thing?

I was very impressed that Paris chose Kiss by Prince. I love that song! Still think she'll go home, though.

Taylor can come to my dance party anytime.

I hope Elliot isn't sent home tonight. For some reason the more time passes, the more I like him. He has a wonderful voice and it would be interesting to see what would happen if he made it into the finals.

Tonight, I say a girl is going home. If I had to choose between the two, I would have to say Paris.

I think it's going to be Paris, too. She has a great voice, and is amazingly talented, especially for being only 17. But, there's still something missing from her that I can't quite pinpoint.

Katherine blew the first one, but the second one was really good.

Taylor is very entertaining. His second song was quite good. The first one, not so much, but still very entertaining. I love how you can just tell he lives the music and, Idol or not, he's going to be doing this stuff until the day he dies.

Elliott's voice is awesome, but he can't quite find a persona. That's going to hurt him.

Chris, though, he's the man. Renegade rocked! His second song was rough, but I liked it anyway. I heard some Kurt Cobain in his voice. Even with his voice not performing to par, it was still full of character and life. His stage presence is the best of the bunch too. Oh, and he's hot.

I'm pulling for Taylor. I called in around 150 votes for him last night...

First time I have voted this year...
