"Republicans offer freedom, We offer free stuff" OMG that video is HILARIOUS Why haven't I seen this previously? It was made in October... That was awesome parody that hit pretty close to the mark.

Aces, I don't think the usual suspects will comment about that 50+ number... That MAGA number....! And as poles go always add 10% to the positive for the Republican and minus 12 to 15% for the democrat. Fake news of course, always has been... The liberal MSM has been doing that for years....! That is why Hillary is our President...! Yep, they really got that one right....! Chris

What a joke!

Gives new meaning to the term "Trump Derangement Syndrome!"
Average tax refunds are down 8.4% in the wake of Trump tax cuts
The average refund of $1,865 was 8.4 percent smaller than the average refund in the period last year.

Republicans passed a $1.5 trillion tax overhaul in the final weeks of 2017 that cut rates for both individuals and corporations, giving fellow Republican Trump a major policy victory. Democrats had warned that the cuts and other changes in the overhaul would primarily benefit the country's wealthiest, and many are eager to see how it will affect average Americans.

That is because in high tax states, all liberal-progressive states, NY, NJ, CA, etc. the cap on writing off state taxes was set at 10,000 dollars. So in reality, it is the high tax liberal progressive states that are the problem, no mention by you or the MSM of that fact. Oh, and I saw a report on this same phenomena about a couple in NY State who's taxes went from 10K refund to 10K owed. The tax bill on their NY house is $18,500....! Looked like my house, nothing special, not rich by any means, just more snow around the house.... So who's fault is it Tio Vinny, Trumps or high taxation liberal states...? I know your answer but you know the real answer. Chris

Chris, while you are right about the 10% or so of people whose tax liability went up, you missed the reason why Vin's screed is so silly.
Here is why Twain was so against statistics ("Lies, damn lies, and statistics")
Pay close attention now, because I know maths are hard There is a difference between tax refund and tax liability. Duh.
You know why refunds are down? Because withholding was reduced and people took home more pay during the year. IN FACT, 80% of people paid LESS TOTAL TAX than the year before. Unfortunately, these same people are obviously too stupid and distracted by "muh refund" to look at the totals. Just another biased piece made to make the Pres look bad to the morons without critical thinking or math skills. How do these people get by in the world?
Then again, half the populace has zero net assets sooo.... could those two things be related? Next time someone hits you with the "top three richest have more money than the bottom 60%", remember that 50% of people have zero or negative assets. Heck, if you have 100.00 bucks in your pocket and no debt, YOU are wealthier than 50% of Americans. It's not like they are all poor. I actually know several people who blow through money living the good life well above their means, (certainly far more extravagant than myself) that would fall into the zero net worth category.
Freaking simpletons complaining about imagined losses.

Average Joe is 100% correct. The withholding rates changed in Feb 2018 so you took home more each week instead of giving the govt more than you're supposed to.
The key is: How much were you required to pay in federal taxes for the year? If you compare 2018 to 2017, you paid less.
Econ 101 says money in your account works for you. Money held for you by the govt does not.
But we can't expect simple people like Vinny to understand so he parrots his liberal overlord's talking points.

Trump pushed debt from $19.9 Trillion to $22 Trillion.
Most of that increase from the $1.5 Trillion dollar
tax cut to the top 1%. See any "trickle down yet?
Yeah! What a "success!?" (NOT!)
