Po Boys was sold last year and became Saz's. I talked to the management and suggested they continue being a known blues club as I knew people that would come from EG to listen to bands there (although I heard the bands didn't like the stage monitor set up). Any kind of music would have been great. With no marketing, and little draw beyond the regulars,

it closed.

It has now been revamped with new ownership and is called The Canyon Grill and Alehouse.  It had a soft opening a week ago. I think they wanted to make sure to work out the kinks before a grand opening. The owner seemed very positive, but as we popped in a couple days before opening, I'm not sure exactly what the final product will look like.  We mentioned how nice the patio was for eating, drinking and listening to music, and he seemed inclined to use it.

Looks more like a restaurant than bar.

Location is in the shopping center at the corner of Oak and American River CAnyon. A few doors down from Boom (formerly Vics)

By my count that makes 8 places that have tried this location.  Maybe 8 is the magic number.

I'm excited about this place. That shopping center is a fantastic resource that needs great new businesses. I hope they are successful.
