Your Sprouts link did not work for me. Here it is again. http://www.bizjourna...-in-folsom.html

I heard this yesterday on facebook. I hope they do well considering they are across the street from Trader Joes. I hope they offer more fresh, healthy foods. It looks really similar, although produce is set up more like a standard grocery store.

Heard that Costa Vida (sp?) is opening in that center where Peet's Coffee and the Pizza Hut are? Around the end of the month supposedly.

It's actually in the Home Depot shopping center near Aloha Sushi

Thanks for removing the extra space at the end of the original link, caligirlz. If you're really curious, you might check out the existing Sprouts near Sunrise and Greenback.

I've been to the one in Land Park. It's a small supermarket focusing on fresh and organic stuff. My daughter loves it.

I love Sprouts. I've been to the one in Elk Grove several times. There are still things I'll buy at Trader Joes, but the rest of my shopping will be at Sprouts. They are going to give Raleys/Bel Air a run for their money.

Why did this thread get morphed into an "opening" thread.  Isn't there another one for that??  Heck even my title got changed.  Not at all cool...:(

Yes, I started one right here in response to nomad's post about Costa Vida: http://www.tomatopag...topic=42281&hl=

However, I believe caligirlz started the Sprout's conversation here in relation to its moving in when Osh closes (the original topic of this thread). I apologize for participating in the "hijack," Sandman.

At the very least, I hope the Osh employees are provided with severance.

Actually, I'm the one guilty of the thread jacking. :DEVILMAN:   Didn't want to make 2 posts.

Sandman, it's nothing personal.

With the discussion of businesses opening in the spaces that were closing, I thought it appropriate to change the topic title.

Online discussions change direction, just as they do in person.

Now, if the topic turned toward religion or parks, I would consider splitting it off.

Reported on Channel 10 today:

A new Dick's Sporting Goods store is slated to open in Folsom, and it's hiring.

The new store is expected to open in April in the Willow Creek Shopping Center at 1003 East Bidwell Street. Approximately 70 full-time and part-time jobs are open.

The retailer boasts benefits, competitive pay and employee discounts.

Those interested can apply at the store's website.

Great new meat market has opened between Sbarkles and Trader Joe's. I think it used to be the Harvest Bread place. It's called Adam's Meats I believe and the guy has an incredible selection and it looks really nice in there!

Regarding Costa Vida, *another* Mexican restaurant in Folsom...I have no problem with that...I like Mexican food. My problem with Costa Vida is that they don't offer beer!! And I guess there are no plans to do so, which seems a little odd for a Mexican place.

I wish them success, but I won't be going...I can't imagine having chips, salsa, a couple tacos and not having a beer or 2.

Just my 2-cents.
