Looks like a nice Bavarian restaurant. Any opinions?

I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard good things. It's definitely on my list.

It's really like a real European restaurant. Slow service, small water glasses, bland food, very high prices. I love German food and really wanted to like it. I was disappointed, but may give it one more chance, maybe at lunch when they are trying to have quicker service. I think its better as a bar. All the servers were hanging out in the bar, while we were without drink refills or any attention for over 20 minutes. When we did get a refill of soda, it was from the bar, a cup full of ice, barely any soda and they charged us $2 each refill, even for the kids. The bread and butter was the best part of the whole meal, I should have left after that. There's also not really much a kid would eat, other than bratwurst. And they don't take credit cards, they just have one of those ATMs that charge you a big service fee.

I could've had two good meals at any number of better restaurants for what I paid there. It did remind me of bad dining experiences in Europe, so in that it is authentic.

I have no doubt that even with a spot on review like this, others having the same exact terrible experience, and multiple bashing posts about the place, it will thrive and succeed in Folsom simply because of the damn name of the place.

They are eastern european and they make a fantastic melt in your mouth strudel. Really.

If you like German food, which is kind of heavy and stick to your ribs, then you will enjoy their food. It's not cheap, but its all home-made and fresh.

Incorrect. This is a small restaurant not a chain, so it's bound to fail.

Heart of Europe buys breads from O’Brot (half baked frozen breads from Germany).
With the high lease almost $10,000/Month, it is gonna be quite a challenge for the two owners to run this place successfully.

Ambiance: 1
Service: -1
Food: 2

hey, if you like German food, you will like this restaurant. Like I said, their strudel is exceptional. This place is great for a cold winter's day or night. I'll definately go back, if only to learn a little more about spaetzle. It has an authentic feel inside too. I hope they do well.

I actually enjoyed the place. I tried the head cheese appetizer and it was great! The bread was wonderful and they have a great choice of European beers. Give it a try, it is worth the trip.

I just ate there for lunch today. I had the Hungarian goulash, a good size plateful of food, for $11. Very tasty. The staff was attentive, not intrusive when serving. I found this place reasonably priced, the lunch portions filling, and the food flavorful.
