I was driving though E. Bidwell when I saw two sets of nets spanning across overhead the street, hanging by wooden telephone-like poles on each side of the street. Those wooden poles have been there for awhile which makes me think the nets have been put up before regularly. My first thought was maybe they were planning on building something and wanted a safety net of some kind. I don't see any tall trees near by. Anyone know?

PG&E is reconductoring the power line from Folsom to Shingle Springs, info here:  https://www.pge.com/...nductoring.page

I believe those nets are used to catch anything that may fall while working on the overhead lines.

Yep, if a line drops by accident it will catch it...   Those guys are good at what they do, nothing here to see, carry on as the English say.   Chris

Is this related to all the powerline work going on around Broadstone Dr up the hill towards Vista?

Yes, I saw that today and it is part of that power line work there.  They are doing it all the way to Shingle Springs, so you may see similar nets and poles on the N of 50 in Cameron Park.
