Disgraced NBA ref accuses league of fixing 2002 Playoffs

Not that he's the most reputable source, nor does he specify what series it was - but if he's telling the truth the Kings were officially cheated out of the NBA Finals in '02.

I know some people on this board really love the Kings but just let it go. What do you want them to do? Maybe get everybody back on the court and replay the series?

There's plenty of people pretty sure the NBA is fixed altogether.

Wow. I think everyone in Sacramento pretty much knew the game was fixed but we were able to turn the page. Something tells me this story is going to seriously blow up in the next couple of days.

It's super easy to fix NBA games. Especially the over-under....
I have opinions, you have opinions. We'll just call it even...is that OK ??

It probably saved us from losing in the finals.

The Sac County Board of Supes will probably be demanding reparations and try to raise taxes on somebody over this.

Please. The Lakers handily dispatched the Nets that year. Everyone considered Kings-Lakers as the pivotal match of the season.

Didn't the Kings shoot like 25% from the free throw line during that LA series? All fixing aside they would have won if they made the free throws.

Everyone but the Nets.

Weren't the Patriots a lock to win the Superbowl? What were the odds on Big Brown to win the Belmont?

The Kings may have been the favorites, but that doesn't translate into being winners.

Maybe, but if they just threw the ball 1 second earlier, there would have been no way to dispute it and there would be no controversy.
This is unfortunate if true, but the advertisers really want more money.

It's not like it was just one call. It was going on all night. Mike Bibby got called for getting elbowed in the face, for Pete's sake.

Anybody figure out how he knew the NBA wanted the series to go 7 games if he wasn't the one refereeing the game?

Its amazing that people actually give this guy any credibility regarding anything he says.

Kings fan are BEYOND pathetic to hold on to Glory days past. Let it Go. Doo you see San Antonio Fans crying over the "non- call" when Fisher clearly fouled Brent barrty on the 3 pointer???

learn some class from san Antonio and stop complaining and focus on the future. If you bury yourselves in the past, you will NEVER EVER come close to that dream team of Vlade, Christie, Bibby, CWebb, Jackson et all.

those refs will have to live with themselves and the story coming back again will hopefully give thlem sleepless nights. I still remember Kope hitting Bibby with his elbow right in front of the ref

basketball is big business what more can be said
