Roger Gaylord posted online that there are still 94,000 county ballots left to count, and he is only 67 votes behind.

It looks like Gaylord has pulled into second place

And in related news, Jeff Starsky couldn't be reached for comment. That's a huge turnaround for Gaylord, up by 232 votes.  Wonder if Starsky will ask for a recount if difference remains where it's at? He would need to pay for the recount right

Yes, the candidate requesting the recount has to pay for it. If it turns out the recount reversed the results he would be refunded.

Wow, that would be quite the upset.

I wonder why Ernie was spared?

Ernie has a strong following because of his community work with the FAA.  He did a lot of outreach too.

This is very SAD that it takes weeks to figure out who wins.

Imagine what is going to happen when everyone votes by mail.

We are going back to the 1800's for god sake.

Let's go back to pony express.
A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

Just wondering, does anyone know what a City Council position pays? And Mayor? I assume they are paid..?

It ain't over yet. The top 3 are separated by a few hundred votes.

All 3 have their appeal. I think Ernie appeals to older, long time residents, Historic District residents, and to those who would like to see growth and development slowed, particularly in the Historic District.

Jeff seems to appeal to those who are concerned about government experience, legal knowledge and city management.

Roger appeals to those who want to see change at the top.

Whatever the outcome, it won't be a landslide.

According to the city website:

City Council Annual Compensation

Postion Earnings  -Mayor $8,760  - Vice Mayor $7,560  - Council Member $7,560
