Events for November 14, 2014

Ballet in all its forms from on the stage to behind the curtain to expansive outdoor landscapes will become the focus in the next exhibit at the Gallery at 48 Natoma in Folsom, “The Art of Ballet,” will showcase two artist’s work with photography by Keith Sutter and oil paintings by Kirk Miller  along with a selection of stage props and costumes on loan from the Sacramento Ballet Company.  The exhibit opens November 14, 2014 and continues through January 8, 2015.
 
In the adjacent Community Gallery at 48 Natoma, over 200 photographs in the 9^th Annual Folsom Focus Photography contest sponsored by the Folsom Arts Association will be on display from November 14, 2014 to January 8, 2015.
 
The public is invited to celebrate both exhibits at the free opening reception on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with refreshments, wine and live harp music by Judy Phillips.  Several members of the Sacramento Ballet Company will be on hand to meet guests.  An additional treat the evening of the opening reception will feature a special Holiday Fine Art Sale with artists from the Art Center displaying and selling craft items just in time for gift-giving.
 
The gallery is free and open to the public and art is available for purchase.  Hours are Monday through Friday from 9-5, with additional hours Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm.  Free tours can be arranged by appointment.
