• The administration says these alleged IP appropriations along with corporate espionage have cost the U.S. economy between $225 to $600 billion a year.
   
• While this may hurt China in the short-term, it has other markets to sell to in Asia and elsewhere.

As stated before, a trade war is just a clever under-the-radar approach for getting Americans to pay for his tax cut.  Remember - consumers will be paying for the increased tariffs.  And where does the tariff revenue go?  Into the gov't general fund where it pays for the same stuff as taxes do.  Sadly, the Trump cult members aren't bright enough to figure it out.

Trump as said,"Why do we need trade tariffs at all?" Now, wouldn't China and other countries jump at this idea? Why are they still clinging to the idea of tariffs? We don't need them.  And they aren't fair to us.

Obviously there is a lot of ignorance and misunderstanding about the problem of overseas trade.

 

Time was, American made shirts at about $5.00 each and sold them, after wholesalers fees, marketing fees, taxes, etc. at about $20 per shirt with about a 50% markup.

That is they would pays $10 for the shirts ready to sell and sell them for $20 with a 40-50% profit margin.

 

Capitalists then found they could buy shirts at 17 cents each, and at the beginning could sell them for less, say $18 each,

and beat out the competition.

Now they could make a 1,000 % profit. They COULD sell them at $2.00 and still make a huge profit, but they chose to make $17 per shirt instead.

And did they pass on the savings to consumers? Hoh-No!

They stashed it in off-shore accounts and trust funds, often avoiding taxes.

 

The root problem then is GREED. It is worshiped and glorified as Capitalism and justified by the "every man for himself" credo.

 

So, how did China accumulate a vast bank account at our expense? Communist China forced slave wages on their workers.

The businessmen sold us out took all the profit, justifying it as being a "risk" and therefor they deserve the wealth.
