With the expansion of SO50 I heard a rumor that Folsom is trying to get Prairie City shutdown. Anyone heard anything regarding this or can confirm?

I am a regular user of the OHV park over the years.and  so far have not heard or read of people or a person attempting to shut down Prairie City OHV park.

The OHV park should be OK for now since there is a land buffer between the actual OHV activity and White Rock Road.    The park has heavy equipment (i.e. tank trucks) which water to keep the dust down on busy days.   There are sound requirements for the bikes which will be better enforced.   The 50 freeway makes more noise.

The activity at the track goes on year around and is good for the Folsom Hotels and restaurants.    Law enforcement, Fire Departments,  Cal Fire use the facility for training so the land is multi use.

If anything, it looks like plans for improvement and expansion of the Prairie City SVRA OHV are approved and underway:

Oh, there will be complaints....!   Oh, and then they will complain about cargo jets going into Mather that "nobody told them about" or were not made aware.  I say too bad, Mather was there first and so was the SVRA....!    Don't like it don't move there.   Just look what is happening to the Cordova Shooting Center...   Development has moved near and now they want to shut it down.  Anti gun, anti 2A city council of course........  Chris

Funny how that works...  I know the Sacramento Area Modelers have a place off of Sunrise/Florin area that they have had for decades.  A lawyer built a big house waaaaay over yonder (it's pretty rural) and then complained about the noise. They must have come to an agreement as SAM is still there.    People complain to get what THEY want even when they should be responsible for doing their own due diligence on property BEFORE they make something established change to suit their notions.
