Just trying to bust out of routine. Who are your favorite local wineries and which varietals?
Up the hill, Crystal Basin Cellars is my go to. Their location is not a "destination" style outlet, but the owner/staff are great, and their wines are generally very good. Favorites are the Cab Franc, Campione (pricey) and depending on year, Mouvedre
Don't get out to Napa much anymore, but I used to like Sterling Cab Sauv before they changed their business model. The cave at Meritage is pretty cool, but the rest of it is...meh.
Russian River area has the Korbel Champagne tours, which are very interesting, and hey, who doesn't like sparkling wine?
Paso RObles area, our favorite is Opolo vineyards A great Sangiovese, and a few other really good blends (stop by Pasolivo for some olive oil tasting on your way)
What are your favs?
