On a visit to the Folsom library a few months back, I noticed how library manners seem to have changed. There were quite a few people talking in their 'outside voices', including moms to their kids, and kids to each other. I didn't notice any cell phone usage, but then again, I didn't see any Asians.

College libraries are a little different though. I remember the library as Sac State being VERY loud, mostly with study groups/discussions. But they did have at least one designated 'quiet' floor.

Nice Parody. I am an Asian. I think, this whole thing is blown out of proportion. This is a young girl who had a tough day and did something that was perfectly fine in private. We all should give her at least one more chance before judging her. Who has not made mistakes when they were young?

Alex, please please go back to UCLA. You made a mistake. But that's fine. Just say sorry to your friends and GET BACK TO YOUR CLASS. don't give up school for this.

Being one who makes frequent mistakes, I can appreciate that sentiment. I don't think this was a kid having a bad day though. This seems like something she's been dwelling on for some time. Her dad says she is looking for ideas for a website called 'Asians in the library'.

I've heard people say, "I don't blame her, no one should be on the phone in the library." That's true, but she didn't talk about people, she specified Asians. I've seen many people talking loudly in the library, usually non-Asians. And she didn't stop at the library. She mocked their language, complained that their families come to visit, that they make food for them and do their laundry. What business is it of hers?

Together they raised an ignorant child.

The band Green Day wrote a song about her, it's called American Idiot.

She got what she deserved, sometimes it doesn't pay to shoot your mouth off and be offensive.

I pity the fool who would buy a book by that boob. He would be dumber? the person buying it or the person who wrote it?

People seem slow to realize that what's out in cyberspace is there forever.
