On 12/3/14, Detectives from the Folsom Police Department Special Investigation Unit (SIU) conducted an undercover operation into suspected prostitution activity at several massage parlors in Folsom.  “We began an investigation based on complaints from the community, including neighboring businesses who suspected illicit activities were occurring in the businesses” said Sgt. Eric Heichlinger.

Detectives arrested 2 people during the operation:

Yueting Hu, 44, of Sacramento from T Massage, located at 1179 Riley Street for soliciting prostitution.

Yanxia Luo 38, of Sacramento from Serenity Massage, located at 1000 RiverWalk Dr. #115, for soliciting

I was surprised that the Massage place with the Chinese lantern in front of it on Glen by Duchow wasn't part of this

I was surprised that wasn't one of the addresses, too.  Have you ever looked up the ad?

Our Kiwanis See's Candy store is located next door. I heard there were clients coming out of the place then buying candy at out store. Hopefully sales wont drop off!

I did get a BOGO free coupon from them and didn't know how it worked?

There have been places like this operating in town for the last decade or longer. Ive wondered why they haven't been busted before? This has been discussed on here in the past. It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out all the males going into these places for an hour massage coming back out in 20 minutes of what's going on in there, besides poor massages.

I find it ironic that these places have been operating for years and they get busted a month AFTER the City Council election.

Can you explain the timing of these arrests in relation to the city council elections? What does one have to do with the other. If anything they should have happened before the elections so they could take credit for cleaning up the bad element in the city right?

Nomad,

These massage parlors/ illegal prostitution houses have been operating in Folsom for a very long time. IMO, if these were raided BEFORE the election and incumbent council members tried to take credit for closing them down, anyone could have asked why did it take so long to do this?

Incumbents don't want anything negative to come up during an election, so its my belief that this was postponed till AFTER the election!  This very forum had a discussion about this issue about 5 years ago, so its NOT like this just snuck up on us! Stafff have known these activities were going on because citizens have been express complaints for years!

A few elections ago, less then 7 days after the election, the City came out and announced a nearly $9 million budget shortfall ( maybe it was $7 million). So there is a history with this regime of withholding/postponing negative news until after an election.

I recognize some of you think that Im very negative and quite the cynic about things in our Local Government and I understand. Ive had far more insight into issues than most with personal relationships with some key staff, who over timed trusted me NOT to expose my sources and having my Ex wife work there for a number of years. She shared some of the most blatant corruption Ive ever heard of.  The current regime and the "in" crowd knows what I know that's why they try to discredit the messenger and generally DONT address my questions.

OK I see what you're saying. But if this is indeed the bomb they are dropping as it's after the election I'll take it as it doesn't really seem like that big of a deal at all.

I agree its really NOT that big of a bomb. However, the real questions is did they indeed sit on this until after the election?

Homer, I try to get out information on issues with the questions I ask. I don't have the inside information like I once did and have to be careful as to not expose people. I'll make comments about certain things to try and raise awareness on issues.

It seems to me that if you really want to know what goes on during the meetings and who is to blame for certain things, you would go to the meetings and get to know the people that are running this town.  They also have many of the meetings televised.  Many people are very busy complaining and spreading rumors about things that they have heard second or third hand.  Do you really know, or are you trusting the word of someone else?  Try finding out for yourself.  I have had my fill of a couple of people, in particular, but I think that the majority of our city leaders are very caring, intelligent and trying to do a great job.  When you do not do your due diligence you sound pretty silly and you only spread rumors that are not true nor fully believable.

Homer, I agree. We are fortunate that we live where we do! We cant simply take for granted what we have and that things will continue to remain great. Great places to live can become undesirable over time . That's why I try and point of things that may possibly lead to declining quality of life for all of us and ask the questions I do. Im convinced a more engaged group of citizens leads to a better community.

Im assuming  we all are in agreement we dont want houses of prostitution, pretending to be massage parlors.  If we knew this was a problem and waited until after the election to bust them, to avoid having the incumbents having to explain why it wasn't done sooner, then how can we have any faith in what City Hall is putting out about other issues?

Maybe that's why they waited until after the elections?

I can't see an election conspiracy here, but I definitely see the problem it creates for the ethical, legitimate CMTs. The ones that advertise in an unprofessional way make things harder for the ones who want to make an honest living.

I hope the PD keeps an eye on this.

If these places are going to operate in residential areas, there isn't much the city can do about it if the operators follow the municipal code regarding home-based businesses and can show they are certified, but these kind of sting operations will help.  I know the one on Glenn has violated a few city codes regarding hours and signage, especially since a new owner seems to have come in recently.  It's a duplex, not a commercial area.  I hope the city stays on top of it.

lol, im waiting for the pro PROs-to show up and talk about prohibition laws and the creation of underground operations such as in places like massage parlors in residential neighborhoods.

Does prohibition really serve a purpose in a society that is tolerant to free behaviors, lifestyles, expressionism?
