sorry, couldn't resist!C'mon you guys. Play nice.
A botanical garden.
yeah, it is a fair question. we have so much here to be thankful for. our own small vibrant zoo, lots of parks, swimming pool, great state parks, great schools. since its directed at parents, I'm interested too.

Yes, I agree that Folsom already has so many wonderful things to offer. I was just wondering if there was anything else that parents wished were here. Something that would either make their life as a parent easier or enrich the lives of the kids.
when I was growing up, we went to museums and other cultural things. it would be nice to have cultural enrichment that kids could enjoy. of course, three stages is doing more programming for kids and the Sutter Street Theater usually does a play for children too.

Hmmmm..... You're right! There isn't anything like that here.

Do they ever do tours of the old Powerhouse, or open it up to the public?
oh absolutely! in fact, they just opened a multimillion dollar tourism visitors' center there. It just opened two weeks ago. check the Friends of the Folsom Powerhouse Facebook page for some great photos. There is also the Folsom History Museum and their Pioneer Village, another fun thing for kids. What ages are you talking about?

Agreed.More diversity. We're a pretty affuluent, conservative, white, Christian comunity for the most part. I wish we had more things that represent more than just that - restaurants, churches, people of color, festivals etc.
