Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite day of the year.
It brings family and friends together to just be together. Sadly for me, it will be the first time in 27 years that my daughter Jenny won't be with me. I'll miss her, but she's getting married soon, and they're going to his folks' house this year.
We'll soldier on without her, with my wife, mom, mom in law, other daughter and her boyfriend, nephew and his girlfriend, brother in law and sister in law. Hoping for a couple of other stray family/friends.
I'm always curious how other celebrate. Do you host a big party? A small one? Eat at a restaurant? Go out of town? Just another day?
What's for dinner?
I've found that most people do the traditional turkey dinner, but add their own family or cultural twists.
I have friends from the Phillipines who have lumpia or pancit. My wife's Italian side has raviolis, while on the Mexican side they might add tomales or rice. At my house, we make a cajun cornbread and shrimp stuffing.
What's your deal?
