Wow! To think MY first motorcycle may have been a collectible is amazing. Ours was red and more off-road with big knobby tires and plastic dirt bike fenders. Brings back memories but as pre teenagers we ran that little bike all over dirt trails in Tahoe, welded frame and shocks from jumping (doh!) and rebuilt the engine at least once.

This SL70 looks close to ours http://w3.bikepics.c...1295385-800.jpg

eVader,
I'm confused, do you still have the bike? Just to give you an idea... You see that dented exhaust pipe on your SL70? Those pipes in undented and original condition are fetching $900 to $1200 on eBay alone. If you still have this bike, you might want to clean it up and put it away for a few years, good investment. Maybe you can use another bike for trail riding. Red is 2nd most wanted, and to the right collector, the original, early SL70s and XR75s are worth big $$$. There is one place getting $7,500 for 1973 XR75s. If I could afford to keep mine, I would but I have another Triumph and SL70 to complete, and just need to get down to a few projects so I can get something done.

Hey, if I sell mine and my other one, I'll contact you if you want to sell it. I'll buy yours in February and restore that one too after I finish these. smile.gif ah, wishful thinking on my part!

The Thruxton was mine. This is my latest project which has been put on hold for a little bit because of the new baby... but it will be done one day soon. 1973 CB350G
