He (the resident) is lucky the kid didn't kill him. I think his ( the bad guy) time in jail will be longer because rounds were discharged during the burglary. I guess he will be charged with assault? or assault and battery? I guess if he didn't get away with anything they could at least charge him with attempted burglary. Resisting a lawful citizens arrest ( does that fly in California? ).
What else?

The article says the resident was not shot, but was injured in the fight.

Hope he recovers quick and knows Folsom residents hope he's ok.

Darn lucky the resident did not get hurt or killed.

Glad he is OK.
A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

Kudos for the home owner but while i support and embrace the 2nd amendment, sounds like a risky and dangerous action to get the shotgun from the intruder. Intruder is lucky as well to still be breathing because a normally a dead criminal is a good criminal.

Owner should have shot him when he had the chance, would have saved the state a few hundred thousand.

Or it could be an error in the crime log and they meant "attempted murder."
The assailant's address was from another part of Folsom.
