I heard there was a show on PBS about this but I am Googling to no avail.  Might you know a link?

Haha, I found this... http://www.kvie.org/...a_Challenge.pdf

We just moved in to this neighborhood in September and have noticed the names on the streets. Pretty cool.

When I was house-shopping in 1999, I checked out that neighborhood and noticed the names.  We almost bought a house on what was called "Bolan Ct." (Mark Bolan of T-Rex).  I noticed later the name had been changed to Lindley (David Lindley) - I am assuming it was done because there might otherwise be confusion with nearby Balin (Marty Balin of Jefferson Starship).

I have been aware of most of the names all along, but thanks for the link - there are some I never would have otherwise known about.

I also have one that they missed on their list:  "Hewson".  That's Paul Hewson, aka Bono, lead singer of U2.  The court is appropriately one over from Mullens (Larry Mullens, Jr., U2's drummer).  I could have sworn I had previously seen an "Evans" (Dave Evans aka The Edge, U2's guitarist), but maybe that was my imagination, because I don't see that name on the map now.

I've been showing and selling homes in that neighborhood for years, and I'm no longer surprised when my buyers have never heard of even the most famous of them.

I've had clients who didn't know who Jim Croce, Bernie Taupin, Stevie Ray Vaughan or Todd Rundgren was.'

If anyone ever asks, 'Who's Eric Clapton?..."

BTW, I've always thought that 'Parsons' was named after Alan Parsons rather than Graham Parson, which the list references.

Me, too, since the name is Parsons and not Parson.

I lived on Hornsby Court when I bought my first house in 2001.

This list from 2001 says Alan Parsons, among other differences. Too bad the original kcra link is dead.

Hey, Hewson is missing from that list, too, and so is Mullen.  Where are all the U2 fans who make these lists?

Also, that list still had Bolan, before it was changed to Lindley.
