With the warm weather embracing us, learn three italian salads that are pleasing to the palate, but cooling: Neopolitan Caprese, Sicilian Peach Salad, and Roman Bruschetta al Pomodoro. This class by Italian television personality Orietta Gianjorio also provides the perfect wine to pair with each salad. Orietta, a trained som, knows wines! Class is $40, for students 21 years and older. Call the Murer House Learning Center at 916-985-3250 or email us at folsomite@aol.com or check our website at www.murerhouse.org.

A shindig is being planned for the Folsom Historical Society's third annual Pioneer Village summer event. This year it will be held at Pioneer Village on June 7 from 5 - 8 PM at 120 Wool Street.
This family event will include a dinner of hearty chili, cornbread and salad. A vegetarian chili will also be available. Ice cream sundaes will be served by Folsom's renowned Snook's Candies. Guests can enjoy the exhibits and activities at the outdoor museum like panning for gold, watching a blacksmith, visiting a miner's cabin, visiting the newly re-opened Railroad Museum and many other interactive displays.
The activities also include a raffle of prizes and a light-hearted auction for desserts from some of Folsom's delightful eateries conducted by guest auctioneer, Jim Pelley from Laughter Works. Music will be provided by "Fiddle, Flash and Friends".
Cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Proceeds will benefit the Folsom History Museums. Tickets available April 1 by calling 916-985-2707, on-line at www.folsomhistorymuseum.org or at the Folsom History Museum, 823 Sutter Street.
