Independents seem to have more people who seem to care (maybe family owned?), tend to have more wholesome looking ingredients (hate those perfectly formed little sausage balls at Pizza Hut and the like).
Their products look different (less perfect), and taste better.
What most of the chains seem to have going for them is speed and price, but with that you get a consistently bad product. On the occasions when I do end up eating some of their stuff I am disappointed every time.
Chicago Fire, Roma's, Classico and Ciro's all do a better job than Domino's, Pizza Hut, Round Table, etc.

There used to be a Domino's where Pizza Guys is now on East Bidwell across from Streets of London.
There's a Little Caesars with their $5 pizza next to Dollar Tree. I personally can't eat it. Cardboard crust and plastic cheese.
Maybe a Pizza Hut would do well with the high school students.
In totally unrelated news, Streets of London has changed it's name (and owners) to Churchill Arms as of today.

Earlier tonight I was telling a friend I wished an independent pizza place with AWESOME pizza would open up in its place. In my hometown The only pizza chains are Nancy's (Chicago Fire's inspiration) and Lou Malnati's (whose quality IMO has gone down since it became a chain) while there are scores of Mom-n-Pop's dishing out quality pies. The bar is higher than markets dominated by chains. Prices are great, customer service is key (people are very loyal to their favorite), and the ingredients are high quality. Yum!Not the best quality. They need to put in a Pizza Hut or Dominos. Intel will order and the high school if it's cheap and fast. Also, a Subway would be good there.
Imma get me some Roberto's Pizza tomorrow night. Can't wait!
I'm partial to Pronto's and Dominck's along wih Chicago Fire.Chicago Fire, Roma's, Classico and Ciro's all do a better job than Domino's, Pizza Hut, Round Table, etc.

We noticed the sign on the door this week, too.
Will Gerry & Jacquie still be there?

They were running it for pub quiz tonight. I'll have a hard time not thinking of Churchill Downs. I wonder if it's just the Folsom location or the other two as well.We noticed the sign on the door this week, too.

Only Folsom location is changing and Gerry and Jacquie are staying.
