Hello,

Newbie here but wanted to get some inputs on buying homes near power lines in Folsom. Have been a long time renter and currently exploring the RE market in Folsom which looks light in terms of listings under $500k. There are some listings near the parkway area which are very close to the power lines - I think we like the homes and the neighborhood but the lines and proximity are a concern , not so much from a health perspective but from a potential resale value.

Thoughts? thank you.

I had a friend who's father studied EMFs after World War II.  He claimed they were harmless, but he later died of brain cancer, so there's that.

I'm with you. Don't *settle* for something if anything makes you uncomfortable, especially something as major as a home purchase. There *must* be something better out there!!

There are a lot of nice homes in Folsom <$500 K -

I for one would not want to live near the High tension power lines ( is that what they are still called ? ) ...  but then again - we all bombarded with so many types of unseen electronic signals daily- not sure if it really matters... ( I just would not live near the visible lines)

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Hi tweety, I'm out of town but wanted to shoot you a quick reply.

Bottom line is that whether for safety or aesthetic reasons, more people would prefer not to live near power lInes than there are those who wouldn't mind.

Still, for every property, there is a value and a price. Youy buy them cheaper but sell them cheaper than similar models away from the lines.

Thank you all for your inputs - we will likely be passing on these homes and continue the search :)

I avoided them when I was looking. I noticed that some of those homes too a really long time to sell.
