I am looking for an authentic Dim Sum restaurant (not Fat's) and assume I need to go downtown to find one. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Rice Bowl on Florin Road (West from 99) on weekends is still my pick.

For "authentic" Dim Sum, I agree that the NEW CANTON Chinese restaurant on Broadway in Sacramento is as good as it gets. My family are Dim Sum nuts and this place compares with traditional dim-sum service places in San Francisco's and Los Angeles's Chinatown areas. And, the price is reasonable.

Although I've heard good things, and they have recently passed the health inspection, they have a horrible record with the health inspectors; everything from vermin to improper food storage to personal hygiene.

If you can get into San Francisco, go to Ton Kiang on Geary out in the Avenues. It's about the 22nd Ave block of Geary. It is the best dim sum in the City.

Adds to the flavor. Like how tuna fish hasn't tasted the same since they took the dolphin out.
