.

That's why I say we need to stop throwing everyone into the male-female box. Not everyone fits so neatly.

Yeah that statement is just as much bs as saying abortion is right or wrong. Forcing others to believe it by insisiting it is so and then saying very poorly guessed scientism is proof is just all about follow the leader bullyism- like guessing who the culprits of global warming are.

complete and utter nonsense just begging for a pc scrap to save face.

there is no such thing as minimalizing sexuality through a chromosome. I have know plenty of trannys with perfectly fine chromosomes.

Ok, but as soon as you acknowledge this, then the question becomes what do we as a society do about these folks who because of "other biological factors" are gay, transgender, etc.

That's why I say we need to stop throwing everyone into the male-female box. Not everyone fits so neatly.

There's not that much that needs "doing".  Live and let live.  Gay is nothing like transgender, and transgender is rare, despite all the publicity of late.  Let's use common sense when it comes to bathrooms etc.  As for benefits - I consider it "elective surgery" and do not want to pay for someone else's desire to change their body parts.  For census purposes, a man who really feels like a woman is still a man, but if that person wants to claim to be a woman instead, I really don't care and it doesn't matter.

supposedly gender is defined by an xy in a chromosome. I personally think its an poorly guessed "scientific" theory. Sexuality is as spirual as thought for humans. Period.

I really don't understand what you are trying to communicate.

That is absolutely horrible.

I am shocked by the damage to the white car. I can't help wondering if the design of the Hummer (is it made extra strong for military purposes?) contributed...

Homer, thanks for the info. Very interesting.

Awful news.  It seems the fact that the entertainment media made this into such a big story, combined with irresponsible driving, has now taken a life.  Only in L.A.  But I'll wait for more details to emerge.

I really don't understand what you are trying to communicate.

Its quite simple really/

spirituality is the same as thought.

so is sexuality is thought. Therefore-sexuality is spiritual.

The drive to procreate is merely biological.

Thanks for clarifying.  I suppose that's true.  Even so, when I consider this specific topic (physical operations) from the standpoint of "sex", I think of it in biological terms.

I know someone who got a tranny change.

He opted for it back in the 80s. The doctors denied him based on a psych test. So he drove up to Canada, got the hormone therapy drugs and then drove to south america to get the final package surgically altered. He became a she. Still a very unhappy person. But, it is what is. I see this issue as no more or less offensive as abortion.

People will get the change done if they want it, through means outside the legal medical world if they cant get to it through a supportive and caring route.

so yes, my other posts on xy getting hacked still apply.

and as often-less as Wikipedia claims that someone with XYY pops up in a genetic pool; just remember that so does twins and triplets and octuplets but they have been occurring with alarming frequency in our society for the last 20-30 years.

even more alarming is the number of people who claim tranny without a genetic link and still insist it is a biological condition and not a psychological factor- like the person above.

Where do we as a society draw the line between physchological and biological transformations of gender? Where do we as a society draw the moral line of sanctioning their citizens to utilize back door doctors whether in this country or another?

I'm not sure if you are referencing my previous comment, or someone else's.  Hopefully someone else's, since I am open to the idea that there is a genetic component involved.  Also, I wasn't trying to say that transgender people become such based on (only) biological reasons - far from it.  Obviously the psychological component is dominant.  What I was trying to say is that I would define "sex" based on what the body indicates, not what the mind desires.

I went back and reread your earlier comment, and now I think I understand your point:  that the Y chromosome is not enough to call someone a male.  Interesting idea, I must admit.  But unless there are other very strong biological indicators of femaleness (i.e. female parts), then I would used the Y chromosome as a yardstick.  If the person can combine with a woman to produce a baby (assuming fertile sperm), then I don't know how that person can be anything but biologically male, no matter what is going on inside the brain.  A man who needs a "sex change" operation to become woman is actually proving the point that he was born a male. (Vice versa for a woman.)  For example, I hope you wouldn't deny that pre-sex-change Bruce Jenner is a biological man, no matter how he feels inside.

As for spirituality and "sexuality" (as opposed to the word "sex" meaning gender), that is something for which we cannot and need not draw any lines in society.  That is the realm of feelings.

As for forcing people to use "back door doctors" - I have no objection to people getting sex change operations if they so choose, at legitimate medical facilities.  I just don't want to pay for someone else's elective surgery.  I'm guessing that most of us feel the same about that.

Well, did any of you see his interview the other night?

Does it change your feelings? Reinforce them?

I felt really badly for him, if indeed this is the path he always felt he had to go down but was afraid for 65 years. I imagine it is liberating and scary at the same time.

I wish him/her well.

he seems more than little confused to me.  I completely understand he has felt this way from childhood and its something he can't shake and I have a lot of sympathy for him.  I have always liked Bruce, but now I really feel sorry for him.  I hope he finds some sort of peace of mind.

I am sick and tired of hearing about people's sexual proclivities and orientation. If you're a publicity (censored), then you're a publicity (censored) and sex has no part of that. If you are an Olympic champion, then you are an Olympic champion. I don't give a flying flip if you are gay, transgendered, seeking reassignment or polygamous... right up until the time you start beating me over the head with it. Just shut up and live your life for crying out loud.
