Just wanted to give a heads up for those with cats and small dogs. Coyote has come down all the way to the fence line and was challenging my dog the other morning. Ran away once I came out. However, a cat or a small dog might just serve as a nice meal if available.
Empire Ranch area.

There was a huge, fluffy, well fed coyote in the street on Folsom Auburn a few nights ago. I was getting off work and saw him. He was acting very weird. He kept running back and forth in an almost circular pattern on the corner of Oak Avenue Parkway. He was running up and down that tall hillside and down into the street. I slowed to a near stop and he still almost hit MY car twice. At one point as I was turning onto Oak, I was wondering if he was running directly toward my car. It was odd behavior for a coyote. If you see him, please avoid him. I had a bad feeling crawl down my back. He looked distressed.
