Completely trashing the Rams is almost as good as beating the Cowboys! The defenses is awesome, now they need to develop the offense. The defense will keep them in games but the offense has to step up some more. The rest of the league is better than the Rams (Lambs).

Big let down by the niners yesterday. I'm just happy I took the family to Applehill and watched the game on DVR instead. I would of really been mad if I had kept them at home to watch that.

Did you see Dre Bly's showboat and subsequent comments in the Sac Bee? What a bum!

From SAC BEE -
Trailing by 25 points in the third quarter, cornerback Dre' Bly intercepted a pass, and in true Neon fashion, put one hand behind his helmet and started hamming it up, even though he was still 75 yards away from the goal line.

Proving that there is such a thing as cosmic justice, Bly was promptly tackled from behind and fumbled. The Falcons recovered and kicked a field goal seven plays later.

The play typified the 49ers' 45-10 loss, the team's biggest defeat at Candlestick, and it is bound to be replayed ad nauseam this week.

Perhaps most shocking is that coach Mike Singletary didn't give Bly the hook like he did Vernon Davis during a similarly terrible game last season.

"I didn't see that," Singletary said of Bly's blunder. "I just saw him basically not take care of the football."

There might still be punishment in store when Singletary finds out that Bly was decidedly unapologetic after the game.

"Like I say, I'm going to be me," the cornerback said. "That's who I've been my whole life, that's who I was in college. I have fun. Dre's going to be Dre'."

Talking about oneself in the third person: classic Deion.

Look at the bright side, at least you didn't fly to NY to watch the Raider game!

It was a lousy game but hey, anything can happen. I seem to remember the 49ers getting pasted by the Iggles in 1994 after a good start, and that season turned out pretty well.

Yesterday's game showed the true colors of a team still stuck under John York's ineptitude.

The 49ers will continue to suck until the finally kick out York and bring in someone who actually knows something about football.

If the 9'ers are that bad, then how much worse are the St. Louis Rams? Actually I think the 49'er ownership has improved dramatically. Jed York is still wet behind the ears but he knows it and is talking to his Uncle Eddie. That's where he needs to go and I think he handled the Michael Crabtree mess very well. The problem is that he needs to get the team out from under 10 years of poor handling. Singletary must mature as a coach as well.
It's going to take time and I am losing patience as well!

I'm hoping that this was their wake-up call. They've done better than expected this season and may have let it go to their heads. A nice arse beating before the break to remind them that they still have a lot of work to do may be what they need before going into a stretch of games against some tough teams.

I look forward to seeing how they respond to having a new bodily orifice, courtesy of coach. And to the return of Frank Gore!

I have never been excited about a 49er loss, but I am today!

They showed that they can strike quickly, that Alex Smith does indeed have talent, that Josh Morgan wants to play, and that Michael Crabtree can.

We'll see if it was a fluke next game.

Yeah, the 2nd half was exciting. I like the nucleus of Crabtree, Morgan and Davis as playmakers. That's an exciting trio, and Crabtree has already surpassed DHB's season production for the Raiders (you know I couldn't let that one slip, Nate).

Be careful what you wish for, though. Next week, we get Indy in Indy.

Hey, say that five times really fast...
