Hey Folks, the storm door is about to open, so this may be a our last chance to have a sunny and warm weekend for a while. With that in mind, here are some great outdoor events happening around town….
Start your Saturday day off with Cars and Coffee. This weekly car show is held at the Palladio Center, in the parking lot closest to Broadstone Parkway and Nordstrom Rack. See vintage cars, racers, and muscle cars on display by their proud owners…
…next, head to the Farmer’s Market in Folsom’s Historic District. This the start of the holiday season and there will be extra vendors with crafts and gifts. Live music, too….
… Get your Christmas Shopping done at the Folsom Shopportunity. Come shop this unique holiday market featuring over 50 handcrafters and direct sellers selling a variety of wares. Folsom Community Center…
…This is a good time to go and pick out the perfect Thanksgiving wine, direct from the makers themselves. Start in West Sacramento at the brand new tasting room of Baker Family Wines. Owned by former major league baseball player/manager and Sacramento native Dusty Baker, and his wine-maker partner Chik Brenneman, BFW is turning out some wonderful wines. I picked up their 2016 Russian River Syrah to add to the Thanksgiving selection. Stop in, try some wine, and tell them Steve sent you… From there, head down South on River Road to the Old SugarMill, with 15 different wineries on site…
If you still ain’t had enough, get your blues on at Powerhouse Pub. Touring blues artists every Sunday at 3, and stick around for the Sunday night Blues Jam starting at 7pm. Bring your axe or your sax, or just hang out and enjoy some great music, and half off of drinks…
… Looking for a house? There are 102 homes for sale in Folsom, with dozens holding open houses this weekend…
Want more ideas, check out the Visit Folsom calendar…
Now, go out and make it a great weekend!

Hey folks, it’s Thanksgiving weekend, my favorite time of year. I get to enjoy the 5 F’s, Family, Friends, Food, Football and Fwine!.. Here are some ideas for fun stuff to do over the next few days….
First up, the Folsom Turkey Trot. This annual event features 5k and 10k courses. Proceed benefit local charities, including the good works of the Twin Lakes Food Bank. It looks like we might have clear weather, and there’s still time to sign up at the Folsom Community Center until 6pm Wednesday…
On Friday, avoid the shopping madness and head up to the foothill wineries. It’s Plaid Friday, and many of the wineries are having offering great deals on wine and other gifts…
Jim Metzker, owner of Dorothea’s Shoppe on Sutter Street.
… Saturday is small business Saturday, and there is no better place than the ambiance of Historic Folsom, where you will find “one-of-a-kind” specialty items, be able to support your local entrepreneurs, and eat and drink at the finest local restaurants. Vote for your favorite window decorations, and enter to wine a stay at a B&B…
On Sunday, you can check out the 49ers vs the Ravens at FLB Sports Bar. Such a great place to watch the game, with 36 flat screens, 2 bars, drink and food specials (the Sriracha rubbed wings, extra crispy, please), friendly bartenders, and a pretty fine Bloody Mary..
Whatever you end up doing, I wish you a happy Thanksgiving. Keep it safe, take a Lyft or Uber when you’re out partying!
