Cool, that looks fun. Despite obvious marketing ploys, would be a great excursion to take kids on.

ETA: Retraction in post 10 based on later posts.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I feel it's only fair to warn you. My friend took her kids on this last year when it was in Woodland. She said it was a waste of time and money. The train crept along so the ride really wasn't any fun. The so-called hot cocoa was 1/2 cup of lukewarm cocoa, and they got one rock-hard cookie that her kids didn't eat. Very disappointing.

Was the Woodland one really the Polar Express Train as posted on the website? Because the site states:

THE POLAR EXPRESS™Train Ride comes to life for its very first West Coast appearance in late 2007, at the California State Railroad Museum located at Old Sacramento State Historic Park.

It appears as the Woodland Christmas train ride is NOT the THE POLAR EXPRESS™Train Ride:

read the fine print:

CSRRM is a non-profit organization, proceeds from your ticket will go to support the museum and the new railroad technology museum in the sacto railyards. So, put a crowbar in your pocket, have a great time, and know you are helping to preserve our local history.

I apologize...I sent the website to my friend who said it was the same one. I guess she was mistaken!
