What's this madness? They were able to secure financing for this building without imposing an additional sales tax? How is that possible?
Cool buildings, though!

The fact the you confuse an arena with a structure built to house humans is somewhat terrifying.

The joy of putting $100M of your own money into it.
That, and selling 3/4's of your units at the release party doesn't hurt. I'm anxious to see how many of those non-refundable deposits get forfeited.

Actually, the reason I didn't post this story two weeks ago is because I've become convinced that very few people here care about anything regional.

Face it, not everybody shares your enthusiasm for tall buildings. That doesn't mean people don't care about regional issues. The fact that you confuse "anything regional" with highrise condominiums is terrifying.

An arena isn't a highrise

Hmmm....you stated that you didn't post the story about the Towers project 2 weeks ago because you're convinced that none of us care about anything regional. What does the arena have to do with that? Are you basing your assertion that we don't care about regional issues on the fact that many of us are opposed to a sales tax increase to partially fund a new arena?
In any case, I think the Towers project sounds pretty interesting. It will definitely add some new flavor to the area and will allow a lot of people to live an urban lifestyle in an area with limited opportunities to do so. Good on 'em.

I want a new arena, I'm just too cheap to pay for it (I don't watch that much sports).
I also want high rise towers, but I'm not paying for them either. I just think they're neat to look at and hope someone builds some.
I also want the new airport terminal (that looks neat!), but I hope I don't have to pay too much for that one. I understand the county is gonna bond part of that.

Nope, that's neither what I said or posted.
