I recently got a kitten. poor stray. She drives me absolutely crazy. She gets up onto the counter and plays with the rack of hanging food utensils at 1 in the morning. I holler quit it, and she runs into the bedroom and pounces on my toes. I will wake up at 5 in the morning and she is sleeping precariously on the edge of my bed; and I just know that something woke me up-before she falls every morning.

I know I'm raising another baby in the house. When I have to go to the bathroom, she does too. When it is time for breakfast, the two of us munch away while standing in front of the kitchen counter. In the late afternoons I place a wet hand towel on the floor for her to lie on and stay cool. She follows me from room to room. Occasionally batting soft quick little paws at my heels as though to tell me she where she is; so that I do not step on her.

I sit at the desk and read Facebook, she is right there in my lap; chasing the mouse. Lord she loves the quick movements of the mouse on the screen. Earlier this morning she watched me read a post from someone in another thread on MyFolsom. A happy yellow face rolled back and forth and tempted her beyond her kitten self restraint. In a flash she was dancing on the keyboard while trying to capture that dancing yellow smiley face.

And so now, after such an eventful morning, she is finally lying still, slumbering in a small gray pile of fur on the tile floor at my feet. I know though, that as soon as I move my chair, the squeak of the chair will set her tumbling into frisky, clumsy, kitten movements sure to make me smile again.

Here she comes.

My dog, Dixie, chases her tail almost daily. It never fails to make me laugh. Recently she's been spending more time lounged out on her back resting because of the heat. Sometimes she'll twist on her back and will get a glance of her tail from the corner of her eye. Then she'll spend the next few minutes trying to catch her tail while still laying on back.

We just got a taco terrier chihuahua mix, funniest darn dog ever. Love how despite her small size she barks with such ferocity it's like she's 10 feet tall.

Such a cute topic! I have 4 pets - 2 dogs and 2 cats. The cats are useless. ;-P But the dogs make me smile every day.
We have an 80 pounder, (also named Dixie CW68), and a 17 lb. Chiweenie. Her name alone makes me smile. :-)
They get to wrestling and it is so stinkin' cute! The little one just gets on her hind legs and the big one will get down to her level and go at it. I just love watching them. The they get all worked up and start tearing around the room like crazy tornados. So funny!

That sounds really cute! A Chiweenie? Is that half Chihuahua and half Dachshund?

we have a mini dachschund. She is the cutest dog ever... the thing I love about dogs is that no matter how crummy your day is going, they are always - always happy to see you. She always hears the garage door and when you get home she is right at the door, wagging her tail. Never fails.

How much time do we have? Okay, my 1 fav thing is about our 2 year old Aussie (75 pounds)...my husband insists our Aussie sleeps on the ground, but every morning we wake up, he's between us on his back with his feet up in the air, sometimes sharing our pillow! I think my husband secretly doesnt mind...

We've got a 12 year old cockatiel, Honey. She gets this weird thing where she'll prefer one family member over another for a while. Right now it's me.

So today, while my daughter and I were working in the office, Honey flew and landed on my shoulder. She sat there, tugging at hair, skin, and my shirt, walking around from one shoulder to the other. I put her on the desk and walked out to get dressed for an appointment, and heard her chirping loudly.

When I came back my daughter told me 'Honey was mad when you left' (when angry she'll pace back and forth chirping loudly and doesn't want anyone to touch her).

Anyway, a few minutes later Honey heard me opening the front door to leave and she came flying in and landed on my head. I brought her back to the office and gave her back to my daughter. Again, as I went to the door, she came flying back and landed on my shoulder, and she stared into my eyes.

I had to give her a kiss and rub her head, then gave her back to my daughter and closed the door.

When I came back home she was excited to see me, and sat with me as I had lunch.

Goofy bird.
