The tower caps went up on the bridge over Folsom Lake Crossing - - and the design is made to reflect the entrance to Folsom Prison.

This is the bridge that is being built for the Johnny Cash Bike Trail near the intersection of E. Natoma Street and Folsom Lake Crossing.

The inset shows the East Gate entrance to Folsom Prison.

First of all, it's great to see you back on myfosom! You were always one of my favorites, always coming off as kind and witty, or kind of witty.

About that Johnny Cash trail and bridge, it's just awesome.

They've paved and striped a portion of it, and I've added it to one of my jogging routes and have done it about half a dozen times.

Nice run.

They are building the bridge portion now.  It is a pre-fab from off site and they are putting it together now.  I can see they are ready to lift into place very soon.

This is an exciting addition.  Looks great in person!

Wow, Yeah! Very glad to see this go up. It will add a section of bike trails with excellent vistas, and it's a service to the community.

(Now, if only they could finish the construction on Folsom-Auburn Rd. at Eureka - then I MIGHT  be happy!)

What I wish is that they would rebuild a vista point up off the road looking back at lake.

Glad y'all like it!  Rain today will help get the weathering going on the "witches hats". Truss is scheduled to go up this evening. Grand opening next Saturday, October 4th at 9 am (the project won't be completely done, but I'm pretty sure the city plans to keep it open, at least in non-working hours after the ribbon cutting). Should be a good party. Ride your bike!

Regarding the vista point, while there is no parking lot, the bike path provides a very nice vista point just up the hill from the Johnny Cash Bridge, and once the spillway project is done, the plan is to extend the bike path along the south shore of the lake to the county line. That will provide additional vista points.

I would still like to see some sniper manikins placed up in the towers.  Any chance of that happening?

Who the H designed that?

Crist I hope a truck crashes into and knocks it down.

Why would I want to drive into a "prison gate"?

Leave the damn honor to the criminals- and no I didnt just mean the city pencil pushers that agreed to that!

Wtf, why are you so grumpy and angry all the time? What a sh*tty thing to wish - that a truck crashes into it and knocks it down. Should a few people be killed too? Would that quench your anger?
