Answered my own question. Applegate Fire. Started this afternoon, is currently about 400 acres. A number of evacuations.

I understand a vehicle was seen driving up Hwy 80 in this area throwing out burning paper just before it started. lovely.
Knowing the past helps deciphering the future.

I understand a vehicle was seen driving up Hwy 80 in this area throwing out burning paper just before it started. lovely.
I recall hearing that the 2 grass fires on Green Valley Rd (near the Purple Place in EDH) in late August were caused by some idiot throwing burning paper out the window. I hope this isn't a trend...
