From Folsom Soccer Club:

Folsom soccer club has had approx. $10,000 worth of damage to soccer goals and soccer nets in the month of October.  We are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the vandals.

If those goals are portable and valued at $10,000.00 - why are they not put away after the games?

I need to get into the soccer goal making business. That cost seems extremely high for a few poles glued together and a net.

Nets should be removed after the games have been played if possible. Our team has a rotation of folks who do this to prevent vandalism. However, these are the larger, steel goals that are not easily damaged even if you rolled them over or hung off of them. The smaller goals for the younger kids seem to be the target here and they are damaged more easily.

Not really practical to build a huge shed and put them away every day.

Really??

No, each goal is not valued at $10K.  Several goals were damaged including several nets totaling $10K.  The goals are large heavy steel welded structures (no glue involved here...), not considered portable by any means.

It takes a significant amount of weight/force to bend one of these structures indicating it had to be a fairly large group of individuals doing to work.

Leaving the nets out isn't the problem.  The problem is lack of respect for public property.
