This is truly horrible. What an incredible waste of a young life. It sickens me that such evil exists in this world and that whatever happened was taking place while we slept peacefully last night. My most sincere condolences go out to all who have been impacted by this terrible event. I'm really just sitting here in shock.

Our sincere condolences too. We do not know these people but we will grieve with the family and friends.

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

It is sure a shame that ____ will not be around - but testament to this horrible situation - this forum has many viewers ( 46 right now ) that may not say the words that we all feel - but think them in their minds and hearts-- Farewell young soul - and may you rest in peace

... and let hope that they find the cause and if it was a murder punish the victims....

My sincerest condolences, too. F500, please know that I'm thinking of you and Norm since this touches you more personally as well as the families and other friends involved. Just like camay, I will be grieving too.

Regardless of how it happened, most of us feel the grief of the loss of a young person from our community. Any young death by violent means causes all of us to step back and wonder what could have been done to stop it, and I'm sure we are all thanking God that it didn't happen to any of our own family members. We can't feel empathy for the family but we can feel sympathy and hope that they are able to endure this horrible loss.

Echoing everyone else's sentiments.... I don't know the family, but do know friends of the family, and with kids about that age, I'm just sick with sorrow for them all. My prayers are with each and for the students and families of Folsom who'll be affected whether they knew him or not. I don't know what else to say... I'm so sorry for this incomprehensible loss.

I can't see this as a teen against teen crime because this act of murder was done by someone without any morals, values or respect for life. I believe the link to the father employed at the Prison might bring some insight into why the kid was selected in the first place. Not buying the reason that the kid was half black as being the chosen victim.
Was the father on a prison gang task force? Did the father come down hard on someone incarcerated in the prison? Obviously from the crime on the outside sends a loud message of retaliation from perhaps what occured inside of the prison.
The animalistic behavior necessary to commit such a heinous crime is common when thinking in terms of a suspect being an currently housed puke, ex-puke inmate or a puke on the outside acting out orders given from within the prison walls. Not far fetched when you understand life from within the walls. Law enforcement and correctional officer's learn that their families are always at risk. It comes with the job full of threats and retaliation.

Well said, tessica.

I wish there was something I could do to help the family, the neighbors or the friends and teachers at Folsom High. I will be keeping them all in my prayers.

its hard to believe something like this can happen in Folsom. If this is a hate crime we will have the forces of the federal government joining the investigation.

this is the second terrible event that involved our prison workers

I don't know if there is any kkk in this part of the country

According to this story, police do not think this was a case of murder or suicide (although they are still investigating the death).

I spoke to a police officer in the neighborhood and was told that this was a terrible accident. He stated that they were investigating but that foul play was not suspected.

I saw this young man almost everyday. He was a good kid and I just can't imagine the horror his family is going through

I am sickened by this. This poor kid's life is over, for whatever reason, and his parents will forever grieve.
