The Local Bark in Rancho Cordova is finally open.

They have huge indoor and outdoor play areas where dogs actually get to play together.

Climate controlled sleep area with awesome looking rooms.

I'm sure this is a nice place, but I have to say I'm very impressed with our own Folsom Dog Resort! I dropped off my dog Jack there and they not only boarded him while I was on vacation and took him for daily walks but they also told me that if there were training issues I wanted them to work on that they offer that too! I had already gone through there in house training program with Jason the Dog guy who is a part owner there, and he did an excellent job training my dog Jack.

I'm very happy with the Folsom Dog Resort, and would recommend to try them!

We wanted to try the Folsom resort. They said they first needed to "observe" our dog. They concluded he had seperation anxiety and needed training befire they would take him. Guess, what - they do training! $400. Yeah, right.

Months ago when I was checking around Folsom Dog Resort does not have someone onsite after hours. Deal breaker for me. I want to know a human is onsite at all times if I leave my four-legged son somewhere.

The Local Bark has an overnight cleaning crew. No interaction with the dogs, however someone there just in case of a problem.

The idea of the night watch at a kennel suddenly struck me as very Disney.

I don't see the big deal with someone not there to watch the dogs overnight, there is nothing that I can see them doing to themselves in such a short period of time. My dog sleeps in his cage downstairs every night and he never has had a problem, it's like his own little home. What's the difference?

The dog resort could probably put a night person on to watch the dogs but then you would have to pay more per visit, I say keep the costs down and let the dogs sleep alone!

I have had my dog stay at the Folsom Dog Resort several times now and it has been a great experience!

Same here. Besides, I understand they do have the ability to check the dogs from some sort of CCTV-type setup.
