Light rail back to Folsom was a pain last year, had the same exact experience. I was debating whether driving was still more of a pain.

I think if we go this year, we will park at the Sunrise Light Rail Station, just to avoid the possibility of waiting an extra 30 minutes in the heat with grumpy people. As miserable as it was, I still wouldn't want to drive myself if I could help it.

Looking forward to using light rail but as noted, concerned that it would be madness especially delays getting back to Folsom.

Any thoughts to driving to Sunrise or Bradshaw and bicycling in?

Don't you want to bring some lawn chairs to sit in? Might be hard to transport on a bike.

Oh good point. Will either bring the dLite kids trailer (knew although kid is 12 I kept it for a reason plus grocery shopping) or sling the collapsible chairs.

So other than packing allowed items, any other negatives? Do you have to use bike valet or will they allow you to self park?

Their website says "Free bicycle valet parking is available on show grounds."

Unfortunately the B-2 wasn't there on Thursday.

Air Show was a lot of fun and a big kudos for organization! We took light rail from Folsom and had no problems with parking, seats or getting to and from airbase. I didnt see any car traffic, light rail or bus traffic problems.

The Patriots show, F-22 and stunt planes were some of our favors and the static displays of old and newer aircraft was great too.

I gotta say, after the Patriots show, and the F-22 Raptor, I found the Thunderbirds to be a bit of a snoozefest. Still had fun though, but I was too late with the sunscreen and I'm as red as a lobster now.

I went yesterday- the F-22 Raptor was amazing! Also, the Navy guys in the black hawks (Navy version- can't remember the correct name) were incredibly sweet. They came into my work Sat. night, then on Sunday gave us an amazing tour! Helps that we had free passes (which enabled Governer's Tent access)-would have been cool to see Arnold, but no such luck. Really awesome though!
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no! it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests, and is never shaken,
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Whithin his bending sickle’s compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error, and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Shakespeare, Sonnet 116.

F-22 was the best, too bad the B2 did not come on Sunday, but at least we saw it buzzing Folsom on Saturday. I like the Blue Angels better than the T-Birds, also the Angels did not take 20 minutes of pre-flight and more pre-flight to take off. But they were still fun to watch, and the sneaking up on the crowd pass was way cool.

We we at the fence and had no idea just how packed it was, until we tried to walk to the bathrooms. It was a sea of people this year.

the whole transport thing seemed to be more organized this year, and we knew not to get on a return train that did not say "Folsom" (otherwise you wait at Sunrise for a full folsom train to come by and try to find a space to cram back on). Pity the souls who drove, it looked like a mile backlog to get out of Mather.

One thing that is still very stupid of RT, is that all trains coming out of Folsom before the start of the regular Sunday schedule, end at Sunrise. So that means you get to Sunrise just as the downtown train is dparting, then wait 15 minutes for the next one. Why they cannot figure out a way to just run through trains from Folsom is beyond me... but this is a govt. agency.
