The plan for that area is, sadly, emptiness.

oh, I wouldn't be too sure about that. Dickey's just came in across the street. you never know what's going to pop in over there. Sutter Street recently got Beach Hut Deli and a french bistro that moved from Granite Bay, not to mention the new place opening in Kate Foster's old house by Chicago Fire. I think the rents are going to be so much higher in Palladio that we'll see more independent owner commercial taking advantage of good location and lower rents in the older parts of Folsom.

Judging by the lines out the door at Dickey's, if you build it, they will come.

Well, emptiness with rezoning then. This following doesn't apply to Red Robin, but it's about the school district property backing up to that center. Bernau has already requested rezoning for the property on the other side of Riley.

From today's Folsom Telegraph:

"Public Hearing to consider a request from Bernau Development Corporation on behalf of the FCUSD for approval of a General Plan Amendment and Rezone to change the General Plan land use designation from JHS (Junior High School) to MU (Mixed-Use District) and a Rezone to change the zoning designation from R-3 (Neighborhood Apartment District) to MU (General Mixed-Use Overlay Zone) for the 6.88-acre project site located at 125 East Bidwell St."

Now, I don't know what's planned, but, whatever it is, I sure hope they take traffic into consideration for the students that walk or bike to and from school. I also hope adequate parking is provided for these mixed-use places.

Does anyone know if Strings is open in their new location yet?

If not, When?

I was wondering the same thing.

Just noticed in The Folsom Telegraph that Kanpai Sushi will be going in at the old Strings location.

I called Strings headquarters and they said that
Fornotino's at 25035 Blue Ravine Road is being
run by the people that had Strings on Riley.

I am not sure this is correct. Think that they said
that one day it would become Strings.

I will try to check it further.

they said, "one day"? That sounds like when you say to a three-year-old, "Kevin, one day you will be able to drive a car too."

I want my salmon with spaghetti marinara now!!
and that great salad.

thanks for checking, Camay!

We are currently playing the waiting game. We thought we would have been open by now. Probably another month. We will let you know when we get closer.
