I would like to take the one Friday - Sunday instead of two full days (Sat & Sun). Do you know if we need our bikes on the Friday class? It gets over at 8:30pm and with only a permit we are not supposed to drive at night (maybe it would still be daylight still). I am thinking the end of July.
Also, what are you using to carry stuff around (like work paperwork and stuff)? Back Pack? Messenger type bag? Does a back pack make you to hot in the summer?
Nope you don't need your bike at all for any of the class, they provide you a motorcycle, its a Honda 250 Rebel, same size as yours, just looks like a motorcycle, you'll be a-ok on it - the big difference is it'll have a clutch and gears for shifting instead of being automatics.
Here's the official MSF site info on the course:
http://www.msf-usa.o...n...ou'll Learn For me carrying stuff is easy, I have two side hard bags on my bike. But when I used to carry a backpack it wasn't so bad, just don't overload it and yes sometimes your back will get hot with it on - the biggest worry about a backpack is the weight - if too heavy it could throw you off balance while you're going around a corner - just keep that in mind when loading it up.
Also - I just did a few searches and found that your bike has 3 options for installable hard bag in the back for extra storage.
1. Removable paint finish top box
This capacious 35 litre removable top box features a matching painted lid plus an exclusive “Sportcity” chrome plate.
2. Removable New Concept top box
A removable, 32 litre top box in textured black finish.
3. Fixed top box with backrest
Fantastic functionality from such a compact top box. This classic fixed top box with a painted lid incorporates a comfortable and safe passenger backrest. Capacity 28 litres.
Here's a cool video about your bike: (it also talks about extra storage options)
