Saw it getting a start just before I left from work- South west of AreoJet. Now it is it really smokin up Folsom

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

I saw it in that vicinity on my Hwy 50 commute home from Sac. The wind current is sending a narrow swath of smoke right across Folsom.

I live in Anatolia, Rancho Cordova, and we're right near the fire. Yeah, it's on the intersection of Grant Line and White Rock, a road I know very well. That intersection's a good couple of miles away from housing developments so I think they're safe.

When I was coming back from the gym I could see the smoke in the distance, and that was around 4 PM, so if it's still burning then it's been a good hour now.

Edit: I just heard some helicopters fly by, I think they're going to fight the fire now. I read on an article they were waiting for the fires to merge before attacking. Although it might've been a news helicopter.

hmm, page not found.

Not surprised it's arson, with how wet everything is, it could take a concerted effort to get things to burn, like lots of gas or something. I was also thinking it might have been a car accident with a ruptured fuel tank. just not the right weather for grass fires.
I would rather be Backpacking

Oops, I didn't notice that it was a resurrected old post.

In that case, I rescind all of my comments as they were based on the assumption this fire was this AM.
