Compare to the flu: 0.002% death rate.

Actually, we don't know what the mortality rate is for the coronavirus because we don't don't know how many are or have been infected.
If there are twice as many infected than we know about the mortality rate would be just half.
Likewise, if millions of people have been exposed the rate would be much lower.
This is what I suspect is true. I know several people who had the symptoms and recovered.
We don't know the true rate because the availability of test kits is limited.
