I saw Ethan Bortnick in concert at the KVIE studio last night and he was amazing! He is a child prodigy pianist, songwriter and singer. He played and sang classical, rock and folk music. He was entertaining between songs and an all-around wonderful, talented young man. He’s 16 and holds the Guinness World Record as “The World’s Youngest Solo Musician to Head-line His Own Concert Tour.” He was not at all pretentious – his parents and 11 year old brother were at the concert. He has raised millions for charities, played/sang an emotional song he wrote to honor the military and also a song he wrote for his brother (who was born with only half a heart) as he was going through major surgeries (he is fine now). He also created a song spontaneously from an audience member’s ring tone. You may have seen him in the film “The Power of Music” on KVIE. It was a great way to spend an evening.
