Hey Doc - it's time for you to bend over and get spanked for your comments. You owe all of the REAL AND DEDICATED 49ER FANS an apology.

P.S. Way to go pack!!! Favre's in our crosshairs, we are going to knock him out once and for all!!!

I didn't say they were going to lose all the rest of their games... I said the only GUARANTEED win was against Arizona. Wow... they got a win in the most pathetic division in the league.

Its pretty pathetic when 49ers fans start talking smack when they are .500! Give me a break. They may be improving... but they are still a long ways away from being a contender. The ONLY team they beat with an over .500 record is Seattle (and they are a default above .500 because of their division).

I can at least admit the Packers aren't that good. We'll see come Dec 10... and then if you win... it will be against another under .500 team. Wow... impressive.

wow 5-5. Never thought a John York team would ever reach mediocrity. How I long for the days when the Niners were the class (in all ways) of the league.

In the 3 years prior to 49ers first Superbowl victory, they went 2-14, 2-14, then 6-10. The year after they won, they went 3-6. It wasn't always gravy.

They are re-building, and are working their butts off.

the difference being John York. "Re-building" under York is a euphemism for "hope we don't suck as bad as the raiders."

A 35-0 loss at Lambeau Field to the Pats...ouch. If I were a chesehead I wouldn't be talking any football today.

Just let the 49er faithful have a week of glory. We have been waiting for a nice win streak for quite some time.

Anyone guess what I'm going to say? Go Bears! It was a decent weekend for me, football-wise, but my high school lost the game that would have taken them to the state championship. Oh well, watch out for the York Dukes in Illinois next year!

I would have answered...

"What are 3 wins against some pretty pathetic competition."

Even the Packers have beaten Minn and Det. Seattle could be this Monday.

How 'bout them Niners.

Guess Nolan didn't think they could get an inch. Listening to KNBR this afternoon... everyone wants the guys head after not going for it on 4th and about an inch.

Acutally... I think he made the right decision. Put yourself up by 4 with about 3 minutes to go. The defense let the team down by giving up the game winning drive.

I knew I could count on a post from you on that one!

I disagree with the decision. they had been running the ball extremely well on offense, and it stands to reason that they would have made that inch. On defence, they weren't able to stop the Rams, who are particularly good at the 2 minute drill.

It was a stupid decision.

Say for instance they do not make the inch. St Louis has an even shorter field with an excellent field goal kicker in Wilkins. It shortens the field for them.

Also... on the 3 previous possessions for St Louis (prior to the winning score) they had to punt. St Louis only had 4 possessions in the second half. Up to the point of the field goal... they had done quite well on defense in the second half. I'll agree that the defense didn't look good in the first half... but in the second half it was a whole different story. Nolan was putting the game on his defense to continue their second half performance.

On the last drive... the defense almost came through. It got St Louis to 4th down TWICE... but couldn't quite stop them. They finally scored with 25 seconds left.

I still can't disagree with Nolan's decison.

The 49ers were not denied from 4 or 5 yards by the Rams the entire drive, so what makes you think there's even a chance of them not converting? Nolan pulls these stupid decisions almost every game (halftime kneels) and it finally came back to haunt them this week.

Nothing is guaranteed. Say they don't make it and St Louis marches down to the 30 and kicks the game winning field goal. Then what? You are calling for Nolan's head because he didn't kick a field goal on 4th down and inches.

Up 4... 3 minutes to go... and your defense has stopped St Louis the ENTIRE second half. I'll take those odds.

I have Nolan's back on that one, but I am known for being conservative on offense and am not a fan of taking risks with a lead on the road. At the time I did not have a big problem with it. Afterall, the defense had been playing well the last 3+ games. All they had to do was keep them out of the endzone. That was a tough loss to swallow, we should have had that game.

It has been 10+ years since I have been able to say this: GO PACK! Please put a whoopin on the Hawks for us on MNF
