Well over a year ago I was in Orangevale (Hazel and Greenback intersection) and observed a Folsom Fire Truck (Ladder Type) responding with full lights and siren.   Left me wondering why City of Folsom resources are being utilized in the county.

I have been working in El Dorado County recently and observed a Folsom Fire Ambulance several times in the Cameron Park area.   Left me puzzled so the only thing I could guess is there was a special transport.   I saw the ambulance several more times so I asked the Paramedic why they are up in El Dorado County.  The person told me they are providing coverage to neighboring locations.

Thought about this more and wondered why the tax payers of Folsom have not been notified about this outsourcing.    This puts the tax payers of Folsom under financial risk. If (or when)  there is an accident with one of the Folsom Fire vehicles or Folsom Fire personnel are held liable for an incident In El Dorado County or Sacramento County,   the Folsom Tax payers will be held liable for millions of dollars.  (Deep Pockets)

What do think about this outsourcing?

I don't know of the specific circumstances, but I think it's due to mutual aid agreements. Police and Fire in different communities support each other when needed.
