----- Movers for Moms

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the Sacramento Association of Realtors and WEAVE have teamed up with SMUD to make this upcoming Mother’s Day special for struggling mothers in Sacramento.

Every year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Sacramento and SAR collect thousands of food and clothing items for its Movers for Moms® drive benefiting WEAVE, the primary provider of crisis intervention services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sacramento County. Last year, they were able to gather and donate about 12,000 items to the shelter and nonprofit.

SMUD joins the 8th annual Movers for Moms® drive which runs until May 7, when all items are collected from drop-off sites and delivered to WEAVEWorks. Additionally, a group of stylists provided by Paul Mitchell’s cosmetology school will also be onsite to give selected women makeovers.

The public is encouraged to join in by dropping off wish list items such as shoes, socks and toiletries at Movers for Moms® collection sites. A complete wish list and other participating drop off locations can be found on the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Sacramento website.

----- Falcon's Eye Theatre presents "Cloud Nine"

The Falcon's Eye Theatre at Folsom Lake College closes its eighth season with Caryl Churchill's Cloud Nine. In celebration of Women's History Month, The Eye sets its sights on this dizzying send-up of gender roles, sexuality, and personal identity. Churchill turned more than a few heads decades ago with this genre-busting allegorical farce. Cloud Nine still surprises with its moving and outrageous tale of self-discovery.

During a Victorian-era Christmas, Clive and his family of English ex-pats in Africa host an explorer and a widow seeking refuge from a hostile tribe. The visitors set off a rash of secret dalliances in the house, with partners varying in age, sexual orientation and social position. In the second act, set in Thatcher-era London, the characters all reappear. They've aged only 25 years, and the actors have switched roles in more ways than one. This Obie-winning comedy is a testament to self-acceptance.

Cloud Nine opens on Friday, April 17 and will continue through Sunday, May 3. Below is performance time and price information:
