I caught these guys last year before they were "big." Amazing musicians and incredible performers.  They really connect with their audience.  The closest they will come to here is San Jose. Then again, they are coming from Croatia.  If you are up for something different, I recommend you consider them. They play cello versions of rock classics like AC/DC, Sting, Guns and Roses, U2, I got my tickets through stub hub and got a pretty good deal for what I got (not nearly the same bargain as last year),

This is the one they are most known for, and is an indication of the type of performance you get live...

Sometimes they slow it down:

I love 2 Cellos! I have been listening to them for probably two years. Unfortunately, San Jose is a little too far for me on a Wednesday night.

Understandable. Then again, I drove down to San Luis Obispo to see them last year. That was the closest they came to Norcal. It was a small college venue. Pretty cool. Most of the people around me were season ticket holders (and an older crowd...60ish), and I don't think they had any idea what 2 Cellos were about. They all seemed to have a good time though! Not sure if I will make the drive or spend the night there. I managed to get floor seats 4 rows back from the stage. Slightly better than the last show (8 rows back) but 3 times the cost. Oh well.

Cool, love those guys...!   Saw Apocalyptica last year at the Ace of Spades, was awesome...!  Listen to Lindsey Stirling often at work....   Saw the Kronos Quartet years ago at the Bridge School Benefit concert backing up Tom Waits...!  Talk about unusual...!   Anything Cello, I'm in...!   Chris

As a child I played classical piano and was taught any crossover with current music was a travesty. Now I'm a fan. 2 Cellos, DSharp, Piano Guys, Vitamin String Quarter, Simply Three, Josh Vietti, Aston, Eklipse bring it on!!

I'm always looking for new music to download. If you have suggestions, please add them to the post.

Great subject Joe!

The guys in 2 cello's are great! Saw them play in Vegas by chance after seeing their YouTube videos.

Hey Chris, Lindsey Stirling is great, listen to her play all the time too.

Have you guys ever listened to Zoe Keating? She does some very unique solo work, laying down tracks and recording them for different layers of her songs as she builds and plays. Her sounds are haunting and amazing, she can make it sound like an orchestra is playing as she records and plays the many layers of her songs. I dig how she melds an old school string instrument with new school recording technology.

Thanks for all the links!  I have liked Sterling for awhile as well.

Not sure if I ever posted this guy before. Not really a crossover, but a technically impressive performer that is pretty unique.

Really gets going as the song goes on

The tuning and detuning of his guitar for melody while using it for percussion is pretty out there

Well, the show did not disappoint!  The venue was in the San Jose downtown, which turned out to be very nice. We arrived early to beat the traffic, and wandered around downtown. It was like K st, but younger and cleaner. not surprising as the college is just a few blocks away.

I only took 1 clip during Highway to Hell. I generally prefer to be "in the moment" not filming the moment, but everyone was standing for the last half hour, and some huge jackass came from afar and stood in front of us. I wouldn't have minded so much, but he was totally disinterested, just looking around and occasionally taking still photos with a BAD phone cam. Not into the music at all.  So I decided to grab a short video of the lads.

Stjepan was doing his best Angus impressions, and he really is a dynamic performer at all times. Funny, talented, entertaining. 2 Cellos puts on one heck of a show. Their drummer (for about 5 songs) fit well with them; talented, high-energy and a showman as well.  Not all the music was high energy, and the event definitely flowed well musically. Now if we could only get them at Three Stages... A must see!
